If you miss the 6-month deadline, you can still register the foal up until it turns 3 years old, but a higher fee will apply.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"126\" data-end=\"224\">Foals must meet the standard eligibility criteria outlined in Section 4.1 of the AFHA Horse Registration Regulations including:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"258\" data-end=\"785\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"258\" data-end=\"473\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"260\" data-end=\"329\"><strong data-start=\"260\" data-end=\"284\">Approved coat colour<\/strong>: One of the five recognised Fjord colours.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"474\" data-end=\"604\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"476\" data-end=\"604\"><strong data-start=\"476\" data-end=\"488\">Markings<\/strong>: No white markings permitted.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"605\" data-end=\"709\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"607\" data-end=\"709\"><strong data-start=\"607\" data-end=\"622\">Hoof colour<\/strong>: Hooves must be dark, except for red-based horses where lighter hooves are acceptable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"710\" data-end=\"785\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"712\" data-end=\"785\"><strong data-start=\"712\" data-end=\"728\">Conformation<\/strong>: The horse must meet the breed\u2019s conformation standards.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, you will be required to provide\u00a0the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>A <strong>DNA test report<\/strong> verifying parentage and colour genotypes as per clause 3.3.1 of the AFHA Horse Registration Regulations,\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>A <strong>service certificate<\/strong> from the stallion owner,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>OR<\/em> if you used your <strong>own stallion<\/strong>, the breeding must be recorded in your <strong>Mare and Stallion Returns<\/strong> from the previous year.<\/li>\n<li><em>OR<\/em> a veterinary certificate of insemination (AI) or embryo transfer (ET)<\/li>\n<li><em>OR<\/em> a registration certificate from recognised stud book<\/li>\n<li><em>OR<\/em> a statutory declaration detailing why none of the above is available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will also be required to pay the applicable fee.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n<style>\n#col-268715180 > .col-inner {\n  margin: 0px 0px -30px 0px;\n}\n<\/style>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n<style>\n#section_355257821 {\n  padding-top: 30px;\n  padding-bottom: 30px;\n  background-color: rgb(255,255,255);\n}\n<\/style>\n\t<\/section>\n\t\n\n\t<section class=\"section dark\" id=\"section_631515605\">\n\t\t<div class=\"section-bg fill\" >\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n\n\t\t<div class=\"section-content relative\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-608181304\">\n\n\n\t<div id=\"col-88487828\" class=\"col small-12 large-12\"  >\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-inner\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\n<h2>FILLY REGISTRATIONS<\/h2>\n<p>A filly foal registered by the breeder within the correct foal registration timeframe will receive a <strong>foal registration certificate<\/strong>. This certificate remains valid <strong>until the filly turns 3 years old<\/strong>. This certificate remains valid <strong>until the colt is gelded, OR turns 3 years old &#8211; <\/strong>at which point, he <strong>must be upgraded to Foundation Adult (Stallion) registration<\/strong> to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Be eligible to have his <strong>offspring registered<\/strong>, and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Participate in breeding-related events<\/strong> coordinated by the AFHA.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the colt <strong>is not gelded and is not upgraded to Foundation Adult (Stallion) Registration<\/strong>, he will keep his foal registration. He <strong>can still compete<\/strong> in AFHA performance events.
